The process of installing FOSC

Step 1 – Open the Closure

Clean the installation area and confirm the location for placing the FOSC.

Check all components and accessories inside the package.

Loosen the fixing bolts and lift them to open the closure (no need to completely remove them).

See Drawing 1

Note: If the weather is bad, set up a tent for waterproof and dustproof protection.

Step 2 – Prepare Cable Lengths

Recommended internal cable lengths:

45 mm: From sealing port to pressboard

1750 mm: Fiber length for splicing and storage

150 mm: From fixing point to tray fixing point

1600 mm: Bare fiber length for tray routing

See Drawing 2

Note: Adjust stripping lengths as needed. Always reserve enough cable for splicing.

Step 3 – Strip the Cable

Use cutters and strippers to remove the protective coating. Refer to Drawing 2.

See Drawing 3

Note: If difficult to strip in one go, do it section by section to avoid fiber damage.

Step 4 – Prepare Fiber Cores

Wrap two layers of insulation tape around the cable jacket.

Remove filling material, clean fibers, form a coil (~100 mm), and secure with tape.

Choose inlet/outlet ports based on cable quantity (max 6 cables).

Port size compatibility:

Port A: ≤ 20 mm

Port B: ≤ 16 mm

Port C: ≤ 13 mm

If the cable is thinner than the port, enlarge the diameter with sealing tape. Use marked paper (Hole A/B/C) to measure.

Reserve 40 mm of the strength member; trim excess.

See Drawing 4

Note: Before using sealing tape, clean cable with abrasive cloth and alcohol.

Step 5 – Fix the Cable

Remove port plugs, pressboard, and strength member nut.

Secure the cable with the pressboard (use tape if needed).

Tighten the nut using a plastic wrench, then retighten with a metal wrench.

See Drawing 5

Step 6 – Splice the Fibers

Follow the fusion splicing machine instructions.
Note: Avoid bending or twisting fibers.

Step 7 – Install Sleeves & Route Fibers

After splicing, house the first fiber ring at the far end of the tray.

Coil remaining fibers (≥ 80 mm diameter) and insert into tray with heat shrink sleeves.

Fix sleeves in place first, then adjust fiber rings.

See Drawing 6

Note: Keep fibers smooth and untwisted.

Step 8 – Final Check

Ensure fibers are neatly spliced and routed within bend radius limits.

Tighten all internal fasteners.

Seal unused ports with plugs.

Control seal tape amount.

Seal fittings should be smooth and clean.

Properly install the closure cover.

See Drawing 7-1

Step 9 – Key Features

Enables splicing of main and branch cables, and connection with drop cables or pigtails-no extra distribution units needed.

Fast expansion with slide-in tray design (90° opening).

Supports FC, SC, ST, or LC adapter panels.

Made of durable, high-strength PC plastic; operates at -40°C to +65°C.

Patented elastic seal ring is reusable and resealable.

Supports wall and pole mounting, ideal for FTTH deployments.

See Drawing 7-2

Step 10 – Final Assembly

Properly align and close the FOSC housing.

Insert and tighten the locating bolt using the special wrench.

For aerial/wall use, attach the hanging hook and secure the side bolts.

Recheck and tighten all bolts.

See Drawing 8
