Spring Optical High-Capacity Fiber Management Solution

The Spring Optical Integrated Splicing and Distribution ODF is an open-frame fiber distribution platform for large-scale central offices, backbone rooms and cross-connect environments. This innovative Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) has been designed to integrate fiber splicing and termination, routing and cross-connection, as well as splitter accommodation and jump-fiber management in a single full-featured modular system.

With the Spring Optical open-frame welded steel construction, the ODF is designed for dual-sided operation and high-density tray system enabling operators to deploy, grow and manage very large fibers in the plant with underlying efficient access and organization of cables.

Product Overview - Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) with Integrated Splicing and Distribution

The rack consists of the top frame, bottom frame, left upright, right upright, cable fixation and stripping unit, splitter tray, and 12-core integrated splicing & distribution trays. A 16-way splitter occupies one integrated tray space, and a 32-way occupies 2. The rack body is constructed of cold-rolled steel plate and is a welded open-frame rack.

The rack is designed for dual-sided operation: One side will primarily include functionality for cable fixation, consolidation, splicing, termination, and scheduling, while the other side will have horizontal routing troughs for any inter-rack jump fibers. Multiple racks can often be installed in parallel.

The rack supports both top-entry and bottom-entry cabling environments. In a top-entry situation, cables and pigtails enter the rack from the top, and there is a separate entry port for each cable or pigtail type. The cable/fiber entry ports include a strip with fiber-protection and provide for generous fiber routing space.

Optional front/rear doors and side panels are available. The doors will mount externally and provide for a secure top-and-bottom alignment of each door using magnetic positioning.

Key Features of Optical Distribution Frame ODF

·Dual-Sided Layout and Front-Rear Jump Fiber Operation

Allows cross-connection between the line side and the equipment side.

·Open-Frame Rack with Multi-Layer Horizontal Troughs

Front and back three-dimensional jump fiber design completely resolves all of the congestion caused by inter-rack jumps of jump fibers.

·Reserved Jump Fiber Channels

Specific passageways reserved for line side to line side, and equipment-side to equipment-side jump fibers.

·Internal Jump Fiber Management

None of the jump fibers protrude outside the rack.

·Jump Fiber Management Software (Optional)

Optionally available to accurately manage the length of jumps in a truly complicated fiber routing plan.

·Splitter Tray Compatibility

Rack has optional support to install splitter trays.

·Interchangeable 96-Core Terminal Panels

Can easily replace with a 96-core integrated frame.

Application Scenarios of Optical Distribution Frame ODF

·Suitable for large-scale parallel rack installations, meeting the access and cross-connection needs for a large volume of fibers.

·Suitable for scenarios that require a different distribution ratio between the equipment side and the line side.
